My name is Jamie and I am 25 years old and live in Edinburgh. Paradventures has given me more confidence in myself as I am getting out and about more, enjoying outdoor activities which were not possible for me before. I am supported by the Paradventures team who help me along dirt trails and up mountains, which for a wheelchair user is not possible on your own.
The #peak2peak challenge in September last year was my biggest achievement, I was guided and pulled in my special wheelchair right to the top of Arthur’s Seat (somewhere I had never been before), to see the view and feel the air up there was breath taking and I will never forget that moment !
I am looking forward to doing more activities with Paradventures in the near future
After a road traffic accident in Oct. ’98, confined to a wheelchair, I was really needing something to get me out of the rut I was in. Paradventures has given me motivation to get back to the person I was before the accident… Minus the paralysis of course!!!
Just to say thanks very much for your involvement in helping our daughter , Erin Keogh, have a wonderful time in Aviemore in early May '15. It was lovely to see Erin, with friends and enjoying herself in the country, excitedly travelling on the funicular railway or by loch or mountainside. Her involvement in activities such as these helps Erin and us feel that she is included and part of the Scottish wider community. Thanks very much for doing such an important job so effectively.
My daughter is 15 years old and spends most of her time at home. With her additional needs it's very difficult for her to socialise and make friends. To find an organisation that not only keeps your child safe but allows them to have fun, try new things and also lets them be independent is a blessing!.
