A great big THANK YOU to Carluke Highlanders who, once a month host a Ceilidh in the Masonic Hall in Carluke, the December Ceilidh was once again very well attended and during the evening Tommy Wilson, President and Robert Henderson, Vice President had the pleasure in presenting a cheque for £500 to a local charity Paradventures. The Carluke Highlanders has supported a number of local charities in the past and hopefully will continue to do so.
Gordon McGregor accepted the donation on behalf of Paradventures which is a registered charity run by a small group of individuals who facilitate adventures and activities for disabled people.

As massive thank you to Lanark & District Round Table for their recent donation of £250 towards our Lanark Grammar ASN Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Practice expedition based Glenmore Lodge.

Day 2 of Bronze Duke of Edinburgh with Lanark Grammar School youngsters David, Mikey, Craig and Luke starting from Glenmore Lodge saw them becoming very proficient at navigating with the photo cards making every navigation decision correctly. David and Craig were working with Niall on the O/S 1:25K map and identified each point required on the route. David is now identifying his location using 6 fig grid references. The commitment and progress is an absolute credit to them ..... WELL DONE guys.
A few thank you's .... Niall, Pip, Billy, School staff: Gillian and Debbie, Dougie from KC Coaches and all the funding support ..... Lanark & District Round Table, The Rotary Club of Lanark, Tesco Lanark, Border Biscuits and Mary Bryson.
The staff at Glenmore Lodge cannot do enough to support us .... Thank you.

A trip to Aviemore at the start of this week saw more routes risk assessed for future groups taking part in our Adventures.
Monday and Tuesday we were joined by Poppy (All Terrain Wheelchair driver), brother Josh (Navigator), mum #LynziKirkwood, #BillyStonebanks, #GilliesMacDonald (fellow Trustee) and Shaun Roberts from #GlenmoreLodge
We battled the wind and rain while we walking into Stob Coire an t-Sneachda. The orange shelter was brilliant for getting out the rain and wind. A wild mountain journey finished safely and followed by a coffee and cake at #GlenmoreLodge ..... thanks guys.

A Massive thank you to the Tesco / Border fundraiser where Richard McAllister, Manager Tesco Lanark and his pal Rab walked the Speyside Way in March 2017. They were joined on the last day by employees, friends and young Poppy with her family to enjoy a days walk.
Tesco Lanark linked forces with Border biscuits and the event raised an amazing £8173.
